    Wink which fuel ??????

    Good evening,
I have a new stx15f. Very happy. Im looking for some tips on fuel, the dealer says use regular 91 octane, no metanol, ethanol or additives. I read some info on BP regular 91, says it has some blended ethanol depending on which season of the year it is. I always thought higher octane no. is better quality fuel, should perform better and burn better, cleaner etc........any tips would be apppreciated

    cheers newbie22

Congrats on the purchase mate. Nice choice.

I have always used regular unleaded in my 07 1300r never had any issues or performance problems.
Read ur owners manual and see what it recommends you cant go wrong that way.
All the people i know use regular as well in RXP's RXPX and yammis.

    Cheers

    Sam

Dude, EVERY fuel type you buy from the pump has SOME ethanol in it & depending on the servo possibly some toluene. I'm a mechanic by trade with experience in nearly every type of race motor you can get (from top fuellers to remote choppers). BP Ultimate 98 is the cleanest most potent fuel you can get from the pump & worth every cent. I'm the guy you bring your engine to for a rebuild & I can tell you instantly after pulling your head off wether or not you've run a poor quality fuel, mostly from the carbon build up but also from other things since carbon can also build up from oil fumes & residue. Every motor burns some oil, even if it is a microscopic amount.

I've tested many fuels in many cars & BP ultimate will always get you more power, a cleaner motor, & will go further for your $ so you're actually better off (bang for buck) spending the exra few cents per litre. The thing is, most people think it is less efficient when they try it but admit that it does give more power. The reason for this is that when you find your motor seems to wanna go a bit better, you tend to use that power while you have it which leads to an empty tank faster. Try it for 3 or 4 tanks & ride/drive it as you would normally. I guarantee it is more efficient.
