Cool kwaka 250x or SeaDoo RXT 215?

Hi Folks, big decision here, can anyone give us a bit of guidance please. I am a wakeboarder and skier and want a ski that can pull me and my mates out with no hassles.Deep start slalom or wakeboarding. Its my 1st ski and im nearly 100 kg. Im in Melbourne and very near the beach luckily.
The deal I found after soem research is $20k for a brand new 08 kwaka ultra 250x or $20,500 for a brand new 08 Seadoo RXT 215. Both no hours, both reg on trailer.
There is also a brand new Honda aquatrax 12x - 165hp turbo - brand new ride away for $18k.
Every manufacturer swears there product is the best of course - I like the extra storage and fuel capacity of teh kwaka but weighs 410kg!
Tech type question:does the Kwaka use a close lopp cooling system like the Seadoo? I am worried the kwaka will use the saltwater to cool teh engine. Does that sound right? Thanks, TG

    Hey bro welcome

My opinion go the RXT. Is it the X? For what you want to do the RXT would more than suit your needs and I think you will be very happy. Steer clear of the Honda 12 specially for what you want to do. Good luck and let us all know how it goes.

A friend of mine had his ski suck up a heap of sand this Sunday, which almost blocked the cooling to the exhaust side of the ski, but... the closed loop cooling on the engine was all good, and saved the engine entirely.

The open loop or using the water around the ski system is ok if you are 110% sure you will not draw anything into the system,....!?!?.

Luckily he didn't, and he is a vigilant water skiier too.

Left him with a few minor... but cheap to fix problems, and the motor is still un-scathed. equate engine to fix if wrecked from $4k->$8k.

Closed loop is the way in my humble opinion, and if the riding is general here and there recreational, then choose one with this attribute.

Have a look at the pricing, am sure I know better deals than this.

Thanks for the feedback guys, the deed is done! I went with the seadoo after all. Its a sick black RXT - the 215hp 3 seatrer supercharged intercooled model. Its so wicked and I hanging to pilot the beast.I put on the skipole too as I hope to ski a lot in teh ocean.
You guys were right, the closed loop is a mssive benefit and they are the only ones witha 2 year warranty , not a 1 year warranty. Collect next Friday arvo and skiing that day for sure. Cheers, let you guys know how I went. Cheers!

    Question

Sweet, thanks guys. Had a question about running it in.... Is there a running in period ? How many hours or how slow or rpm should you go? Another silly question but should I run it on preium unleaded? Is Caltex Vortex the way to go? How frikkin expensive are the covers, they wanted $450 ! Sorry about all the questions but I am a newbie and I am like a kid in a candy store. Where can I get a "sandbag" anchor - Is it as simple as making one yourself? Tx,TG

Read and digest the books/manual that comes with the ski before you throw your leg over it for all fuel and running in etc. information.

Very easy to make a sand anchor from a green shopping bag yourself.

    Good luck, and enjoy.
