2009 Yamaha FXHO Cruiser - Grey Import

    Hi,

I am just about to but my first ski, a 2009 Yamaha FXHO cruiser from Jet Ski Warehouse on the Gold Coast, Queensland.

They have told me that this is a grey import, 0 hours, still in the crate and that there is no difference to locally supplied ski's with regards specification

Can you provide me with any pointers or information before I proceed with this purchase. Is there any compliance, warrenty or insurance issues.

Feedback and guidance is much appreciated.

    Cheers
    Rickardo

Major issue is you will have no warrenty with a grey import. You have to ask your self " is it worth it"????? Some people have no problem with this risk??? Have any issues with the ski in the fist 2 years and you have to pay for all repairs. Do yourself a favour and get some piece of mind and have a chat with the guys at Gold Coast Wave Runners Gold Coast Waverunners - Yamaha Waverunner - Home their moto is - Did you know that Gold Coast Waverunners will compete with grey import pricing? If your thinking of buying a grey import, we will certainly give you another thing to think about!

I have nothing to do with or have any ties with this business but well worth considering.

I'd have to go along with Cookie here.
GCW seem to be very keen traders selling a good product that you will get a proper warranty with it. They also organise rides that you would be welcomed to join in by them.
What you are looking at is the same all over the world, BUT things can go wrong and do at times.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.

It was as I thought. Personally, I would want the warranty assurance should anything go wrong. Like you said, things do go wrong every now and then.

I'll give GCWR a call and take it from there.

Thanks again and hopefully see you on the water soon.
