    Mandurah PWC Freestyle Area

It appears you guys have not got a gazetted PWC freestyle riding area down that way
somewhere you can hang-out, erect your shades, park on the beach and change direction at speed on the water legally
    .
    .
    .
    what's the history here?
has any-one tried before with councils, DPI etc etc??
    where do we want it??
    .
    I'm thinkin here

There is a couple of jet ski areas theres acually one about 1 meter from were you have your area penciled in there is a PWC area on the sand bank out in front of the marina and you can pull up on the dog beach the other side of the inlet problem with were the area is on your drawing is that beach is hell to pull a ski onto theres also a transitting area there anyway... also theres two areas out at dawsville but most of that is open water anyway..anytime you's guys wanna come down to Mandurah when I'm home feel free and I'll show you the sights and were everything is no probs...4th of may is good for me now my ski is facing the write way up I'll supply the BBQ at dawsville and the shade you's Just need the motivation to come down that far....

think we're talkin about a couple of different things
    a gazetted PWC Freestyle Driving Area....{driving they call-it }
as opposed to an area you can transverse or ride-in a non-freestyle fashion if your free of water skiers
or are these a DPI turn a blind eye area's

yeah your write I edited the above post All i can say is I've been skiin in mandurah for a year and a half been pulled up by the DPI three times twice for speeding through the estuary (I WAS LET OFF BOTH TIMES). And once for parking my ski up on the silversands beach was ask to move it to the dog beach I could almost say with certainty that the sand bar in front of the marina is a pwc area its acually next to the waterski area but i've been wrong before.. I've spent alot of time out at dawsville with alot of another skis and never even seen the DPI out there Maybe we just get it easy down south. I was pulled up in the estuary by the DPI a couple of weeks ago I quized him about were the speed limit finished (LIKE I DIDN'T KNOW)...He said as soon as your past the heads go for your life.....and i did......Ski is all good now I now know and easy way to check to bottom of your ski when its in the water....Getting back on after though a whole different ball game

the reason I started thread & thought process

was after speaking with a couple of DPI officers, one from Mandurah
they're a little peeved that there is no PWC specific Freestyle area in the mandurah area
and that continually having to move PWCer's on and give warnings etc

the DPI officer said it would be good if you water hoons had your own special area

above post,,, comet bay is the area.... were are they moving ski's from did they tell you that I'd be interested in knowing...I think they are talking well you know...If he is the DPI officer why dosn't he bring it up with his employer....? he's probably got more pull with the people that employee him than we do...

i was there when this conversation took place with DPI

Now, it needs to be pushed by local skiers, and then backed by JSW, i feel to actually happen.

DPI already hate PWC, so if they could push them into one area, there jobs would be easier. But as they don't like us already, they aren't gonna do anything positive for us, even if it does make their life easier.

A freestyle area somewhere down there would be great for locals, and a good choice for a daytrip for city families.......

Also one somewhere north would be cool....... up hillaries, mindarie or somethin.....

yeah that comet bay beach, which on the map is a no boating zone Beach except for the small take-off zone
the indication was that PWC's were continually asked to be moved from that specific location............
Doubt whether any change here is high on DPI's Waterways Management Improvement Plan,,, but i'll check

if that boat ramp gets built in Port Kennedy
i'd be pushing hard big time to get a PWC FreesTyLe area at the end there at Long Point
