Ahh some mechanics these days get scared if they can't plug your car into the computer and let the computer tell them what they have to do to fix it....

Give some of these guys a old holden one tonner chnage gears from 1st to reverse with out coming to a stop. then give them a hammer and screw driver and get em to fix it.. They could nt do it in a millioon years....

Since FreeWilly141414 hasn't bothered to log on since the 3rd March 2008 at 2:54, lets just drop this thread now.

I personally am disappointed he/she didn't back their craft with a test eval by Slasher/Chookc or someone else with respected long term PWC knowledge.

Chookc, I couldn't agree more. I left the industry in September 2000, when chips/ecu's/ecm's were somewhat simple but I'd rather have a spanner in my hand any day.

And Pottsy, u r dead right about panel beaters too. They're called panel fitters these days, & they make their living from insurance work. Many shy away from custom body work.
Sold: ZXi 900- Coffman piped, Nitro injected, Shaved head, Ported, Oversized jets, Uni-filters, UMI ride plate, Worx scoop grate, Renthal bars, Skat Trak prop, Oversized nozzle, Sponsons
Now Owned: '98 SPX full race equipped with stock driveline & a proven winner (3rd for 2008/9 season, 3rd at stated round, plus many more podium finishes)

And ANY good manufacturer will have a good parts supply in stock. They make equally shit try-hard dirt bikes that seem to take up 2 pages of the local classifieds. The steel is soft, alloy is brittle (it's cast, never forged), threads aren't greased, bolts are cross threaded, seals don't fit correctly, joins aren't fully welded, stuff me I could keep going for hrs. I've worked on several of these boat anchors. If they really are as good as the manufacturers they copy then charge the same price, & watch yourself go bankrupt. I dare say that yamaha wouldn't have sold their moulds just yet which means ya copy cats would've had to make their own. So to say they are just as good is utter shit!

Do you think you are the 1st to bring chinese crap into OZ? They sell like hotcakes at 1st coz of the price then when every dumbass who bought 1 realizes how unengineered they really are, they flood the clasifieds. At the time "Jap crap" was exactly that, there was nothing of that sort of item being made in china either. China HAD the good name, but for different creations to what was coming out of Japan. You will note too that none of the Jap manufacturers that exist today started out by copying someone elses product.

Here's an idea...give me one to test. I'll treat it the same as I treat my own ski & we'll see how long it lasts. I've had this argument 1000 times & haven't been wrong yet.

Hmm seems your one of the few honest MM's out there, ,,,,
    In reply to you post ;

Why should I give you one to thrash ( I can do that myself , which I do ! ) just to prove a point to the small community here, maybe if you worked for a large related mag no problems , when do you want to pick one up ? Actually the Jetski dealer in Mandurah water tested one with a veiw to selling them and were quite happy with its performance ,,,

Another area where you fall short:
How many performance parts are available for your skis?
Will you (honestly) supply parts for your skis for the standard 10 yrs as required by aussie law?
Cracked heads etc can't be welded (too soft).
And they seem to always be twice the weight of the model they are copied from.
Spark plugs are usually some wierd thing unavailable over here.

We want parts available NOW in time to fix our toys by next w-end. Sorry, I'd rather buy from a manufacturer who has put in the hard yards for yrs, done the engineering & knows what they are doing than buy from an unknown copy cat who claims their immitation is just as good.

If you're gonna sell something, be honest. You DO get what you pay for. My $1.50's worth anyhoo.

    More of my reply ,,,,,

Another area where you fall short:

Will you (honestly) supply parts for your skis for the standard 10 yrs as required by aussie law? Unless the factory goes broke yes they will be
Cracked heads etc can't be welded (too soft). Possible but why not just throw on a new one,,,the engine is a copy of the 700cc unit in the VX700 Yahama even using genuine Mikuni carbys,,,
And they seem to always be twice the weight of the model they are copied from. They do approx 73kph which aint bad for a 800cc 2 stoke,,,,
Spark plugs are usually some wierd thing unavailable over here. Mine have NGK's ,,,,,,

i am not bagging things from china, but there needs to be some stringent quality control if things are to improve.... there are some areas where this is happening.... but the ratio of good products to bad...... well i reckon for every 1 good product, there are about 1 million bad ones..

i work in the area of medical electronics, there are still issues of machines that are being made in china even under stringent quality control...

stuff from germany, israel, are awesome...

just my 2 cents worth.... and why i have a seadoo!!!
Jeez blew #4 out the block ,,,,,glad I never imported that one but I saw them personally in China at the trade show and they are crap,,,,,If your going to copy some thing copy a decent brand ! Mitsubishi,,,,no thanks that motor was a dud in a car let alone a jetski !!!!

73kph as indicated by the digital dash ,,,go on bag that now haha

Actually it was the Yamaha dealer !!!!
His only problem was the gelcoat was not as "shiney" as the genuine item and the stickers were crap ! he also later told me that Yamaha had the same gelcoat problem early on and they now 2 pack theirs,,,,,

See me at Ocean Reef mariina one day and ask and you can get it a run anytime. No probelm !

You need to have a look round your own home and see just whats made in China already !!!!

I admit the bandit is not up to the Yamaha or Seadoo qaulity yet but they will be soon. Also I do remember in the late 90's Seadoo having a crap name for their motors,,,We all start some where !

We actually have several dealers on the east coast interested in the Bandit but not at the current exchange rates !!

But I guess thats were I'm not being fair to you this stuff around my house is tried and tested and are know quality brands have been for years....It would be hard to break into a market that is controlled by 5 major brands....

Bringing your ski down to the race day tommorow would give you a great opportunity to advertise your product and let people have a look over it....If you have faith that you have a quality product then I'll see you down there....know need to race... it may generate some interest in what you have....
Hey I would love to but I work in Karratha nowadays and the jetski deal is shelved for now,,,but will get down there sometime,,,your right it would be a great avenue to see how it stands up to comments from guys in the know. Yes its hard to go up against the 5 players in the market now. Thanks for the invite.
