Al, if you are looking for someone to assist with the new site, or maintain and update let me know.
I am a bit far from the metro to assist the club with events etc, but I will help out where I can.
Let me know if I can help.

(PERTH PWC CLUB)
I am just compiling the 1st quarter membership report for the committee. We have had a good sign up of new members (could always be better). An updated and attractive website would definately be an asset when it comes to attracting new members.
Could I just add a word regarding the comments about racing;-
One of the big pushes by JSW this year is the social aspect. Historically, JSW has remained financially afloat as a result of it's racing activities. Social events were unfortunately 'money loosers' for one reason or another. This situation was identified by the committee and a solution derived - the club simply needs more members who are interested in social/family activities to create the numbers needed to make events financially viable. We are not chasing profits, we just don't want to be out of pocket to any great degree. To these ends, the committee appointed a social director (Jagsy) and we voted in a support team too. All committee members are actively promoting and encouraging Jetskiers to join.
I don't want to write a drawn out post but just to let you know, we are well underway with the social side. There was a Poker run just recently and some racers even joined in to support it, unfortunately, it did not have the turn out that I think it deserved. Jagsy's team are a very determined bunch and are going through a lot of red tape with the authorities to set up some amazing social events. This unfortunately takes a bit of time. Things like a Rotto ride takes a lot of convincing and negotiating! But, JSW will keep at it.
If you enjoy social activities involving Jetski's and would like to take part in well organised family orientated events, please consider joining with the growing number of JSW members who share the same passion? When lobbying for permissions, the more participants we have, the better our chances of securing consent/approval from the authorities.
Incidently, the only reason there is a Jetski area and ramp at the Narrows is because JSW pays for the priviledge. This money comes from the club. If JSW were to stop, there are many other organisations just waiting to jump in and take over the area.
Your support would be greatly appreciated! See joo on da water!![]()
Sounds good
Hey just on the DPI front, What are the issues with getting approval to hold certain events, the pocker run for instance you have to have your RST, Required safety gear and what not. so why do you need approval to have a bunch of ski's ride around in the swan...I've not been to the swan much but whats the issue you stay out of PWC excluded zones Stick to the speed limits. just don't understand why you have to get approval...If i was to Organise a ride from Mandurah to Bunbury I tell everyone and then we go we stay within the 400mtrs offshore and go.. and who is it you's guys actually speak to Alana Mctiernan....
Look to cut a long story short If I was looking to hold an event, Race down this way Mandurah Do i just walk into the Dpi office and say I wanna speak to Bob or what Just interested....
I’ll just split that into 3 maybe 4 categories for you there Pottsy
1. Small social ride-----courtesy notification probably only DPI
2.Humungous social ride----mandatory notification, multiple offices + consultative communications to make sure no conflict with other events activities, DPI, Sea-Rescue, Swan Trust------Jagsy, chook Al etc have the list,,saw it last night it goes on for-ever
3. Social ride to the forbidden zone ie:Rotto, similar to point number 2 but demonstrate robust Safety management Plan
4.Race….Similar to point number 3 but demonstrate a Safety Management plan exclusion zones ++ more
Once you’re a member of JSW, Social event is registered and your covered by a limited public liability insurance, theory is it’s Fun, safe & structured
It’s actually no different to joe publics who want to organize rides with PerthOffroad & the ATVWA club
They have been cancelled on many occasion because the ride numbers have got too big, authorities have found out about it and clamped down…..because of risk, legalities and no perceived structure to a ride mob on gazetted offroad area's and crown land
I see-it about every 6 months on the following sites, good intentions, but no idea of the legal ramifications when some-one gets hurt on Jonesys Bush bash’s or Bob’s Sea Adventures.............or even worse,,,it was a 4TecForum ride your Honor,,,

toybreaker,
i know its a grey area,
small social ride - 20 ski's or less???
humoungous social ride.. 20+????
just better be sure thats all....
that would be down to situational interpretations
you may have 20 ski's cruising slowly, carefree abiding by all speeds and laws around hillary's as a group, seen by water police, spotter planes no issue's not worth a second glance, carry-on nothin to see here
.
or you may have 10 Ski's going flat knackers in a boiling white foam fury 400 meters off Garden Island and the DPI telephoto lens fisheries guys spot ya's think WTF?.
is that the Rocko Outlaw JetSki Gang,,,led by their notorious shag chasing Retro Racer...with his Sargent at Arms Potssy X..nab-em and track you too the ramp
.
O.K. alraighty.....ooooo's yor governer
Its all about common courtesy's for small runs and doing the right thing.. Without DPI support there would be no jetsking anywhere.. There are to many knockers out there that would shut us down in a jiffy..
Thanks for the advice,,, will Have to get friedly with the local authorities first before i worry about getting the prize money....I guess it could be a true cannonball run. Bring what you got start here finish there sort your own support out...Totally Illegal and irresponsible best i stop this here.....
