    How far will you go..

Ok time is coming up to put together the next season of racing...

After peoples thoughts and responses on how far they are willing to travel to race and how often durring the season they would be willing to do it...

We have a number of locations in mind but if people are not prepared to travel etc then they are not worth chasing up..

How many race events would people be willing to do in BUnbury? and would they day trip or prefer a long weekend trip?

An idea of travel times you may be prepared to undertake would be of great help to the race committee

    Cheers
    Craig

Great to see that such variety is being considered Craig.
If I was travelling to Geralton or Bunbury I would deffinately prefer to stay overnight. Manjurah would be my limit on a daily return.
Are Saturdays off limits because so many people work?? Could we perhaps have a couple of "long distance" events held on a saturday?
My sense is the more variety the better.

I used to drive 3.5 hours to race . I would drive down on sat night ,sleep in my car, race all day sun then drive back sun night .That was the closest racing to me .People thought i was nuts but i would still do it now . The bunbury round was really awesome and we need more like it .

Cant believe we dont have any surf rounds ... oh thats right we dont have any surf

Lancalin , Bunbury , Rockingham , Secret Harbour , Hilarys????

Dont know anything about north of the river but there must be somewhere up there .

Any usable private lakes within a 200km radius of perth for a winter series?????

Day trips preffered for me. Bunbury ok, (altho i missed this seasons), as i can get there in 90 mins or so. I quite often work Saturday nights, so weekenders can prove difficult. I think thats about my limit..... Mandurah sounds interesting..... Mindarie/Ocean reef for surf round??

Blacksheep, the WA speed boat club do a round down at Lake Towerrinning. Nice spot camping facilities etc... Perhaps you guys would be interested in a weekend round down there?

    website link for details http://www.lakesidecamping.com.au/index.html

**Would even be nice spot for a "social event" but would need permission to ride "freestyle" I guess as it's a waterski lake... but no problems running skis with normal towing equipment...

I know what about a big k-arse JSW weekend mix up of both social and racing??

Wow this looks perfect . Would be awesome on a long weekend to camp sat night race sun , prize giving sun night then come home mon . Combined social and racing would be great too.
Im guessing this place is packed in the summer???
Maybe start with a winter race . Whos keen?? How do we sweet talk the owners?? Lumpstar thats your domain .
I think getting permission would be the toughest part as we are the lepars of the watersport world .

Agree Blacksheep, an excellent idea for a long weekend race-n-social She-ra.
In reading the Facilitities and activities sections it seems to have all one would need. Although I was a little disappointed to read...
All types of water sports, listing everything apart from PWC....
perhaps we have "no business being there"

A great idea that I would certainly support, what say you Chook, is this a potential race round location??
