Thread: DIY Sessions

The social committe of JSW had a meeting last night and one of the ideas was to organise some events/sessions mainly at the narrows PWC area and stage a few sessions on things as follows:


Boating Safety on the water including emergency procedures including flare operations and onwater assistance (possible with DPI representative)

Basic Jet Ski Maintenance for beginners and novices

Trailer Maintenance including fixing of bung lights etc.

How to fix dings and dents

Basic Mechanical Maintenance

These are only a few suggestions and we can add a few as we go. Some sessions maybe be broken down over a couple of sessions. We will appreciated any suggestions.

We think that the sessions will be small in numbers (i.e. less than 10 people) and ran a couple of times during the year. A bbq lunch maybe provided as part of the session and a small fee may be charged to cover costs etc.

Is this something that you may want to participate in?

I have put a poll onto this thread. If you could cast your vote we will then look at putting something together. The social committee appreciates your thoughts and feedback.

Are they gonna do painting and decorating as well? coz my lounge could really do with a makeover.

Maybe not the lounge but we could do as session on:

Jet Ski painting, decals and you!

I have had a few requests about running a session on boat ramp etiquette! (how to speak in forked tongue!!!)

the poll was interest as we had 100% saying they would attend. However with the 100+ views to only have 10% voted

so we take it then that we persue this as a project and go forward with some ideas. Thinking out loud we may have these sessions at diffenerent venues like rocko, ocean reef/mindarie and the narrows or possibley the burswood and run them several times throughout the year.

We will appreciate you all members and not members to get behind and support these ideas even if you think you know everything.

We will post up a selection of sessions soon to see what appeals as i know everyone loves a poll!!!!!!

To the dealers we would love you to get behind this and maybe even stage some of these sessions at your premises perhaps???????
