    Back In The Fold

Felt good to get back into some racing today, just one criticism........why can't we vary the track each race meet, to make the season more competitive. Alternate between tight, medium and open tracks, it'll make for a lot more interesting end of season finale and be less one sided.

    I have an idea

I have the entire ski area on a computer prog and I could easily setup the track layout with Chookc. we could plan various layouts on the PC then import them to my GPS and we could layout the track droping floats close enuff with the GPS on the water.
We could even do a printout of the track and how we will race it given out at race day.

Then we can store the track patterns and keep a printout of the layout and rotate the tracks each race meet if we wanted to.

Just a thought but hey ive never even made it to the track let alone get around it

Let me know I am always willing to help

The tracks are different everytime...thanks to Craig and Aaron...a lot of work goes into the planning before every race meet...the last track was an open track..it had a front straight and a back straight I know this because I could hold my ski at full throttle all the way around.
It was that open...after 15 laps I could still go round another ten times on my own which I did...that was a nice easy sweeper track.
As for everyone having input if everybody came at 7.30am race day to sit in the tinnie boat and set out the buoys then everyone could have an input....as it should be
So anyone wanting to volunteer to pick up the race trailer Saturday prior to race day with me and Craig....then make arrangements to get their ski down to the track as their van has the trailer on it...then get up at 5am on the monday morning like me and Craig do to drive the trailer back to where it stays...hey thats great...we could use a rest...can't wait till next race now to sit back and relax!! Anyone can have an input...thats the clubs philosophy....but all talk and no action doesn't set the track.
If your ski doesn't turn in a tighter track then you may need to spend some money to make it do so....after all ...an RXP won the last season so it aint that one sided...in the top 3...2 were RXPS....HOW ONE SIDEDS THAT??

First of all we should thank everyone that puts in an effort to make our Club so successful! Thanks Guys your work is appreciated...

Take a look at the track at the WORLD FINALS 2006 and you will have the answer to the above debate.

I would love to have a BIG ASS track to race around and show the full potential of my RXP BEAST........

I watched several races on the weekend and it was very clear that the smaller ski's had a huge advantage over the bigger RXP especially in the split where Wangers clearly lapped most riders and gained a lot of ground.

Take nothing away from Wangers he is a very good rider but tight tracks suit smaller ski's.

The comment: If your ski doesn't turn in a tighter track then you may need to spend some money to make it do so....after all ...an RXP won the last season so it aint that one sided...in the top 3...2 were RXPS....HOW ONE SIDEDS THAT??

My ski is worth an arm and a leg with unlimited funds and as proven by me and many other top ski builders around the world the RXP cant make tight due to its hull design.

So we need to compromise to suit all makes and models.

    I would like to see:
    Left and right hand tracks
    Long sweeping bends
    Big long straights
    Large track OD
Make the split tight for the smaller skis and shorter than the alternative outside. Should make for great racing.

Remember guys if the tracks were Long and sweeping the smaller ski's would be left for dead and that would be like us saying you guys go buy more HP to keep up!

So it will take a happy medium to please everyone.

Can we just make a 4-stroke class but still race all pro's together?

    Any thoughts?

Not going to get into a tit for tat...thats what seems to spoil this sport. The issue isn't so much the track but the help. As I said a lot of work goes into the planning and any help offered is greatly appreciated...but it seems the same lot set it up...and the same lot moan after. Guys need to say any issues they have there and then...not come home and moan on here....we're adults...get it out on the day and then offer to set a track up yourselves next time...its hard work. Aaron has lots of international race experience and Craig and I are getting better!! A happy medium is what we want...but that will probably never be reached if we don't all help out with the organisation....as for seperate classes...build up numbers first...theres not enough of us in the pros as it is...whats the point in getting a trophy if there were only 3 of you competing...
