I am only contrained by contractors installing the wooden floor. You know what tradies are like with time keeping. As soon as I know I will let you know.... and I am keen to be there as early as. Rather be there than doing F%&*#@g DIY

I'll be unable to get into the water in perth until 10, but was under the impression we were not needed until 12? Either was will put in a narrows and ride around to AP at 10.

Jagsy, I have been playing sparky at my new place and I'll give you the score, those tradies are worth it - late or not. I have discovered a brilliant skill that I possess - give me any ceiling on any house and I will hit a rafter or beam with a 4mm drill bit first time, every time! Hey? Hey? Impressive huh? F%$#ing downlights!

Want a little tip on the downlight front?

I have over 100 in my place and i had to drill them all...

the easiest way to avoid having to patch, get a brick tie, bend one end at 90 degrees to a length of half the diameter of the desired hole to be cut.

Drill a pilot hole or use a screw driver and punch a small hole where you want the light to go.

Stick the bent brick tie up and in the hole and rotate, if you dont hit nothing ur safe to hole saw away, if you do hit something you'll know where it is and you can move over a bit.

    just thought id share

Hi Dave, great advice, thanks. I have got a test piece of wire that I am using to check for obstructions. Drill the small hole insert and rotate to see if it is free. Thanks for that.

    no worries,

id probably add but, id go through and 'pilot' and check all the holes for a room.

you'd hate to go through and do a nice long straight run of lights only to get to the end and find the last one has an obstruction, and you end up with a dog leg in your lights on the ceiling...

or you have to patch all the other holes... or.... god what a pain....
