    Kawasaki Ultra 150 - 1200 cc

Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me. My ski has about 30 hours use - 20 of that has been mine. The ski has been running awesome - haven't needed to do anything to it. However, last time I went out I had a couple of issues. It was running great but all of a sudden lost power. The engine sounded fine (not misfiring) but the ski had no power. Then it went away, and it was fine again - but about an hour later it re-occurred. I was told when I bought the ski that I would have to replace the plugs quite often, but I have not had to do this as yet - however, I would assume if it was a plug issue it would sound as if it was misfiring at least a little (which it wasn't). I have checked the intake grate and this was all clear.

    Confused - any ideas ???

ahh my friends yamaha had the same problem...it can be ur spark plugs but i highly doubt that...the problem on my friends is the battery terminal plugs...when u see ur battery terminal theres 2 wires black and red...fool around with them a little bit (like push them towards battery a lil more)....my friend and i just played around with the plugs and it ran fine..thts what i recommend doin

seadooWINS, welcome to the forums. Would I be correct by guessing u r in or from USA? Take it from a mechanic , your mate obviously had corroded or dirty terminals.........if nothing else. Obviously they were preventing the battery from recieving a propper charge, but in any case that should have little to do with spark output, unless your spark is governed by a chip mapping which gets its power from the battery. Anyway wiggling leads only weakens them. Take the leads off, & clean them, & the battery terminals correctly .

With the other issue, it doesn't matter whether u have a skidoo, or a kwakka, or a yamahaha...........2 strokes kill plugs. They may still start & run fine but can display a lack of power with age. I run iridiums BR9EIX in mine. The difference in performance is minimal but they r a betta plug. They don't tend 2 foul up as much but I recommend mixing the oil at 40:1 instead of 50:1 unless u have oil inj.

But neither of these 2 is the likely culprit for erattic power loss. It sounds like u may have a bit of water in the tank, & she's sucking it thru periodically.
