NICE work !!
LMAO at the guys draging the ski along the sand.
Its amazaing when you look at stuff like that it makes you realise how far skis/pwc's have come.
If anyone else has any pics of them skiing back in the 80;s post them up.

It certainly was old school,we used to make our own pole springs and alter the cone to allow a quick turn from an idea, hard times compared to now.
One of the guys worked in a spring place and made one to get the weight out of the pole because when we would come down from a high jump we would split the cowl and on long trips carrying jerry cans up rivers and long ocean trips we would get so sore in the arms and shoulders.
The first one he made kept the ski on it's side and would nearly sink,we got there though.
Because the skis were a very basic two strokes, welding crank shafts and altering piston shapes and ports were essential to get some more out of them and that was after,we were very lucky as we had guys from machining, shops panel beaters all kinds of work place were coverd in our group.
There was always an idea, even making our own stainless impelor blades and ride plates for the 550,some things got the ski to near on 100 ks,there was a cop mate of the guys that would bring along the speed gun.
I think the best thing they did with skis was the exhaust at the rear.
I had a ride on a yamaha recently, you guys have it so easy with the current skis, its all there with out any work.
