2008 SXR800, taking it into the surf, what mods do i need?

    Hi there all

New the forums having recently purchased a 2008 SXR800. I'm having loads of fun oplaying around in the waves and I want to start taking it bigger - pushing some decent jumps and playing around with backflips and barrel rolls etc. I'm just wondering what if any mods you all recommend me getting? I heard engine mounts are a good place to start to stop the engione falling out if i land upside down? Also do i need foot straps etc? I'm not too worried about performance in terms of speed, just want it able to keep up from a freestyle point of view. Ski is stock at the monent.

Thanks all, appreciate any and all advice!

Hey bro welcome! Checkout my website and go to the Hot Products link, crack a beer and get ready to spend a few hours in front of the catalogue, they have a huge range of mids fro the SXR's freestyle, engine, body etc. Blowsion etc

A couple of easy things to do would be a bilge pump, as water will get in and you will appreciate being able to get it out asap. A hood strap is a good option (just in case...) I run one for piece of mind.
If you are going to be trying backflips and barrel rolls you will need either straps or footholds. I've got lifters at moment but will be putting in straps soon (I can't be bothered doing all the work 'glassing in footholds at moment).
