Thread: zxi melting exhaust hoses ??? help

hi need some help please my zxi 900 will run fine but in the water for about 5 mins the exhaust hose melts ??? iv tried flushing the whole system i noticed a small hole in the expansion chamber of the exhaust (for cooling???) any help appreciated thanks
iv only had it for a month and just done a top end rebuild.

I had the same problem when i first bought my STX1100, found that i was leaving the flush tap attachment open so water was coming out of it when running, allowing the exhaust hose to get too hot. Well thats what i put it down too. Replaced the hose and now make sure the flush tap is always closed and havent had a problem since.
