Im New, and im looking for/at a ski

Hey everyone, im slobby from newcastle. the gf and i got back from the south pacific recently and while over there we jet ski'd around noumea and bora bora (stunning!). We were instantly hooked!! We've come back looking and thought ski's or pwc as we've been told were around 6k to 9k....boy were we wrong. We've looked at 2nd hand and EVERYONE has had something replaced....we're looking at a brand new one (2009). We've been given a price for this pack

    Kawasaki STX 15F
    NSW Maratime Rego
    Deluxe Single Trailer
    RTA Rego
    Flush Kit (whats that?)
    10lt of Fuel
    Computer Cut Rego Numbers
PFD2 Jetpiolet Jackes (per seat, so 3)
Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Tie Down
    Total - $17,990

Theres only 1 jetski shop in newcastle that ive found so i cant really compare. the guy was awesome but only sold Kawasaki, we rode Yamaha in the pacific and i knew of sea doo but now know that honda and polaris make ski's....Im here for some help buy you guys who are owners. What sort of prices am i looking at at shopping around and how do i compare skis....what can i compare to the STX 15F?

Ive been given a price for that pack but with an STX1500 for $16490, what can i compare to that...where do i start? do all ski's come with trailers? im not out to have a superfast hoon ski. but i want one that will be fun and will be durable and can pull a wakeboard or tyre thingy if needed. Im all new to this so feel free to bombard me with EVERYTHING you can.

Mate do lots of research. Welcome BTW Here's a good place to start, you've got seadoo (RXP/T RXP-X/T-X), the Kawis yeah 15F and Ultras, don't forget Yami (SHO and the new FZR/S) showing lots of potential. Liken it to buying a new car, do lots of research, test ride whatever you can and you won't regret it.

BTW I had to laugh at the 10 litres fuel thing WTF!

thanks mate, ill have a look at lunch to do some comparisons. i might have to drive down to the central coast to have a look at some shops. Are the Honda and Polaris no good? I look the look of the yamaha but would need prices to compare.

i think the 10 litres of fuel is great, gets you started!! by the way do you use normal unleaded or premium unleaded?

    Hey mate,

Yep spend as much time as you can testing and really asking yourself what you want out of the ski, arm yourself with all the pros and cons of each ski so you don't get fed BS from one manufacturer or the other. The Honda F15 have been doing great so far so yeah another option to look at Polaris don't do skis anymore so it would be second hand and yeah

Fuel depends on the ski most regular. Yeah its good but if you are buying new I just found it funny why you just wouldn't get a full tank like the diff would be maybe 40 bucks. 10 litres would get you to you nearest spot on the water to fill up.

Good luck and don't forget evryones always here to answer any question
