    I need some advice..

    Hey guys
im seriously contemplating getting a jetski; i've been looking around and doing alot research on what ski i want i was thinking of a 1992(ish) Kawasaki 650 x-2. Has anyone ever dealt with these skis before? Are they a good first ski? Are there any others you would think be better for a beginner?
    Cheers

Hey mate welcome to the forum and the sport.
Contemplate no more, grab yourself one. You will love it, great sport, heaps of fun.

You can have fun on any ski. My mate just got himself a 440 as his first stand up, needed a bit of work but it should be all good now.
You will get the hang of it after a few stacks

Hey thanks mate, i cant wait till i get one but still looking Do you recommend getting a sit down as a first ski then a stand up or just going straight for the stand up? I ultimately want to ride in the surf near where i live. ive heard that sit downs are way to heavy to be practical in the surf, is this true?

    No probs.

Well it all depends on what you want out of a ski, to be honest they are two completely different experiences IMO

Stand ups are pretty much made for the surf; most of the guys that ride them are in the surf. You wouldn’t ride a stand up down a river for an hour straight or aim for 70+mph, where on a sit down you can.
As you said you want to go in the surf so i think the stand up.

    BUT

You can still take a sit down (pwc) in the surf, there are heaps of guys out there that do it, including me and it heaps of fun. They are just not as manoeuvrable and can’t do spins, back flips, barrel rolls etc.

It all really comes down to personal preference and style.
