Can someone tell me if 2 seater jetski's can comfortably sit 2 people for going for a cruise down the river. Also What about 3 seaters for racing like the RXT. I know that the 3 seaters are good for cruising. Do you really need to have a 2 seater ski to race or is it just the same on a 3sester. The differance between the RXP and RXT isn't that much, the RXT is 11kgs heavier and doesn't have VTS. Also the HULL RXP isa semi-v and the RXT is a modified-v. Can someone explain the differance. I'm guessing the main differance in preformance has to do with the hull shape. If you were to put the RXP up against the RXT over a short distance, would there really be a big differance.

Hi i quoted in my last post that the xp we bought was an 03 its actually an 04 anyway we have had it at our local seadoo dealer and they replaced the rectifier ,the following weekend we put her in the water and once again the bl#$dy thing ran for ten minutes and on came the maintenance light , its definately a electrical problem, not fuel related anyway she's back at the seadoo shop and there even scratching there heads they think its the rectifier again, has anyone had a similiar problem? they think something is causing the rectifier to sh!t itself. Any thoughts???

seadoo DI's (or really anyone elses for that matter) are schitboxes. They don't age gracefully like the carbed boats and the 4smokes.

You will find that the many electrical components will mysteriously start to commit suicide once the vessel is 3 yrs or so old. Reg/recs exempted, they dont wait that long until they let the smoke out.

if the rectifier is getting fried in 10 mins... alternator may be up the creek.... tell them to measure the output in AC before it gets to the rectifier and see what voltage its putting out....

also check out the resistance across the alternator.. if its waaay to low.... your rectifier is acting as a fuse

had a problem like this with a sigma many years ago....

XP.......2 smoker.....don't have alternator (correct me if I'm wrong). But u still could be on the right path......look at the rest of the charging/output system, or the regulator side of it.

Unfortunately, Eel is soooooo right. A sml number of us around here live in the era gone by of simple 2 stroke motors............that simply work!

It's like U2's Bono said "These are the days when we look for something older".
