    2 Stroke Questions

Hey guys. Just bought a ski for the wife. It's a 99 GTX Ltd. I don't know much about 2 strokes but am keen to learn as much as possible as well for 4 strokes.
    1) Does anyone know about the steering. It just doesn't seem as smooth as the RXP when you turn the handlebar. Is there any sort of adjustment for it or steering fluid that might be low. It had a new steering cable put on it not long ago. Is this normal for the older skis? Maybe i'm just used to the newer one.

    2) Is the flushing and fogging the same as the 4 stroke engines??

3)How often should you need to top up the 2 stroke oil???

Thats all for now but i'll probably have more soon

    Thanks

Lube up the cables inc nozzel...... Flushing the same and you spray the fogger down the intake of the carbs...... Your oil light will come on when its half but have a look at the bottle to see the levels your oil is.........Call me if get stuck ......

Don't no Doo's, but 2-strokes lubricate via oil/fuel mix. Some people put premix in fuel tank, but most out of factory have seperate injection.
Uses about 1 ltr oil per tank on a 98 Kawasaki STX, which I believe is about avg for most. If going on long ride, such as this weekends rockingham/garden island ride, could be prudent to start with full oil, or carry 1 ltr bottle for justin.

A question about the fuel valve. When i bought the ski the guy i bought it from said not to worry about using the fuel valve.(the little dial on the side of the ski with res on and off.) i tried turning in and it was stiff as and didn't want to move. I lubed it up to loosen it off and managed to turn it. My question is

    A) Do you need to use the fuel valve
    And
    B) On the knob thing, there's a big and small end. Which side is the one that sholud be pointing to the setting you want to use???
    And
    C) What could happen if the wrong setting is selected while your out riding.

See pic.. This was the setting it was stuck on before. Is this on the res or on postion.

    Thanks

With seadoo fuel taps it pays to give them a good lookin at when they get stiff.. Just check that it isn`t all corroded where all the fuel lines plug in on the inside of the ski..The fuel tap can restrict fuel flow or even let the fuel system suck air causing other dramas. Its probably fine but worth sticking your head inside the ski all the same...BTW.. I always leave my fuel tap on reserve... or remove it.</p>

Yeah they have a habbit of playing up , keep it lubed up or leave it on reserve ....Some times when you think you have freed it up , it may of stripped the plastic knob ....Keep an eye on it .........................
