WHAT THE ????????????????????????????????????I went over her ski ready for the Bunbury race Round , got to the Rave valves and discovered that one had snapped .....The pics shows a normal one and what should not happen .................................................. ..99% of the time they drop into the motor and absolutely destroy the motor ......It must of just touched the piston as the tips were broken off and the piston only had a small mark ..........The rest flew out the exhaust , only a small o ring held the rest from falling in ............................I TOLD HER TO GO AND BUY A LOTTO TICKET ..................................

The good 1 wasn't from the same motor, hence the colour difference. Apparently pwr was good. I've had bikes that seem to be goin as good as ever..........rebuild the power valve & they lose top end, but gain a more agressive entry to powerband. I usually utilise the old tongue, & just shim the rest of it wherever poss depending on valve type etc. These ones are different though as they're vacuum controlled rahter than mechanical. Hey there was nothing stoppin that tongue from droppin down into the pot, & siezin her up, prob doin some big damage too.
Edit: oh, whoops, Slash, we must have been posting at same time, hehe

Slasher you using 951's in that motor or the standard ones... my old 785 we machined a grove into the head to stop the valve from dropping in.. Thats if you are using the 951 instead of machining the stopper of the vavle itself..
Stock ones ..........

Holy Smoke!!! That kind of thing blows my mind! How the hell did it not drop in? Quite weird that it snapped like that, is this a common thing? Does it look like it was subject to a lot of heat? Surely the cap would have melted before the metal let go?
Manda - you are too much of a hoon I tellz ya! First snapping steering nozzles and now the Rave snaps in half!
