Dawson, we would really value your opinion on the drop nozzle. Can you give us your experience on the pro's and con's? What is your take on the standard VTS? Thanks mate.

walk before you can run... the more you practise the better you get and understand the boat much better...
Cal...watched you on Sunday and you are much smoother now...but those chooper handlebars are a shocker..
See you guys Sunday for Rn5....I would like to see TB battle with Magoo..![]()

I find I can't use the trim lever during racing. They are fine for gate start but very time I go for a trim lever in the middle of a race i seem to find myself swimming... Hence my preference for the auto nozzle.. Works wonders on the rxx/rxditp. Can't race the rxx effectively with out it..
Not an xpl expert yet but i THINK THE BENIFITS WOULD STILL BE THE SAME. Of course with everything its knowing your boat and how to turn it and setting up the whole combination to suit. Ride plate sponson scoop hull truing steering drop nozzle and ring sizes etc to match the hp thru the turns... The true Rand d of a boat...
Tb what ride plate and sponsons are you using. Where is the ride plate set. Ie has it been shimmed up down etc. What scoop grate? Are your sponsons the same as capt's are they set at the same setback and depth etc.. All these things will changed the way the boat handles..
Dawson do you run a stock ride plate?
yeah i've read 40 threads on the gp & Gpr ride plates, but not much out there on XPL's, other than stock plate is best in rougher water
Magoos turn very precisely
Capt M's was very responsive, even at slow speed, not even a complete right angle turn, subtle turns were very responsive, hull felt lighter in the water
wot have you done to your ride plate Capt...
.
.
thinkin rear shimmed down with nozzle above neutral to compensate
you need to put ski on its side and make sure the hull surface where the ride plate meets the scoop and ski hull are level and on the same plane...
If not drag and funny handling characteristics will result. Whether it is shimmed with washers to pack or the ride plate bolt holes are skimmed and or you use bog to mate the surface, it is all important..
On the rxp filling the rideplate holes is good for .5 to 1 mph ive done it but still need to do the rideplate to hull.
STAGE II (74.4)
STAGE III (Riva+Piranah??
JET SPORT WEST
I've ridden Toybreakers beast & it does seem to wanna go wide even when u vary throttle times b4 & around bouys. It seems to wanna push outwards instead of diggin in & turning. My ride was brief so can't say much more. I was thinking ride plate, maybe sponsons need lookin at. I think ride plate was stock.
