Spoke to Sea Doo mechanic today. He seems to think the problem is the warmer weather we've been having. Said his ski also does 8100rpm in cool conditions but in the heat he only get 7700rpm. I gotta try and get out early morning to see if i get back over 8000. it wasn't that hot tho last time i took it out. was at 630pm. didn't seem that hot anyway....

how much difference does hot air and fuel make??? Does this kind of loss seem possible/normal??

Usually a ski will fade to lower rpms after riding it hard in hot weather. It should not happen right away.

    C DOO,

May be you should consider decreasing the pitch on the prop to bring the RPM's back to 8100......Its easy to do if you know how!

Test the Ski on flat water a few times checking the rpm's and post me the average and if need be i can remove your prop and re-pitch it to bring the rpm's back up.

    Let me know

For me to do the whole job would be around $120 and that includes pulling the pump out and re-pitching.

You need to know what your doing as its important to bend the blade edge exactly right and the right amount

C Doo, did you find out what was causing your lack of rpm's? I have an 07 RXT and i finally got my 10 hours up on the weekend. For the first time, i really got under it and held it wide open, but she only reached 7600. This was after a few hours riding in the middle of the day, which makes me think the conditions might just have something to do with it. I know its not the opas cause i have them locked up, and the wear ring cant be shagged after just 10 hours! What did you find? Did you repitch the prop?

    Hi Slim.

I got Jason to repitch the prop and she's back up there at 8100.
the ski feels much more responsive. like it did at the start. has yours lost performance or did you just notice your rpms now?

I am waiting for my piranha power kit now. should be here soon. gonna go faster!!!
