    winterising

    hoping someone can help......

this is the fist time i have ever used a forum, but i have ben told by my sea-doo dealer to ask on here as they couldn't help me.

As we are coming into winter the dealer has told me that i need to winterise my ski but they are unable to tell me how to do it over the phone. They told me i can bring it in and they will do it for me and probably charge me an arm and leg. I heard it is quite simple and could do it on my own.

So if anyone can run me thru it i will give it a shot myself. the one thing i do know is that they said to make sure the tank is full. Any help will be much appreciated.

ano good comes out of letting a ski sit. I agree with above. get a wet suit and ride it a few times. if I were to winterize a ski personally I would make sure she had a 7 or so good blasts after flushing then the next day start for 30 secs then give a few little revs to try dry out remaining moisture in water box. then I would remove the injector leads, zip tie throttle down(will crank but won`t turn over) and hold start on while pumping that baby with half a can of lube through the throttle body lube point and pray it gets to the exhaust valves, but thats just me.
if my wife asks, my ski is stock

natedog79, head on over to http://forum.jetskijunkys.com/ a perth based social riders forum, there are rides organized for most weekends, dont winterize the thing, use it! some of the best riding weather we get is in winter.

Perth dosn't have winter...That stuff is for People in Canada were Shit Freezes in winter.....There Intake grates can break when the water that sits between it and the hull freezes and expands...winter In WA is the best time to go skiin Flat water and Huge swells..........If you are gonna lay it up just wander out to your shed every week and crank it over..Maybe get a Trickle charger for the Battery........Or like Dave said go to http://forum.jetskijunkys.com/index.php and Keep on Riding

thanks everyone for your help really appreciated it.

Im actually a surfer and the main reason i have the ski is for wakeboarding, tow ins and to getting to certain breaks, so i own a few wetties. just the dealer stressed that i should get it done, but i supposed its another way of getting money out of us ( us meaning first time and new jet ski owners ).

    ok cheers all.

Only do it if you don't intend riding it for the whole winter as you have to de winterise the ski before you ride it again too...

Just make sure you fogg the ski after each ride and try and start it once a week and keep the battery charged
