Thankyou. that is a huge help. Much appreciated
I took out the ski today and it handles great. Acceleration and top speed are both significantly improved.
Though the only problem is RPMs would not go past the 7600 mark. My A kit was installed by professionals so any ideas why? Any input would be useful thanks
By the sound of it your prop is pitched a bit too far. Your RPM's will probably drop even further once the weather warms up. You will gain a bit from the 4" intake, and even more if you install an ext IC. Once you have all yr mods done then Id plan on getting the prop repitched to bring up your RPM's to suit the mods you are gonna run and you should be at 8000 - 8100.
Any reason why you are running the skat?? From my research they are generally used for big hp ski's and are great for holeshot/racing type applications. Majority of people have seen great success using the solas 4 blade either 14/19R or 15/20R depending if you are running the ext IC or not.
Anyway food for thought. Im sure Les's people would steer you in the right direction, but for sure a prop repitch will get you to desired RPM's.
PS, just a thought might pay to check the chargers clutch slip. Low RPM's can be caused by a slipping clutch also. Im assuming its been rebuilt since you put the new wheel in and all but might be another thing to recheck.
Let us know how you go.
Im hoping to have mine back together soon with the new IC, Green charger, 42lbs inj, 15/20R and thru hull exhaust. Only prob its getting a tad cool here but I think ill freeze my ass off cause I cant wait to get it in the water.
The reason i used the skat trak is because that was the one that was specially made for the seadoo centre A kit. I called my mechanic and he said i probably have a boost leak. I read up on it on green hulk and it is supposedly pretty common.
You mods sound pretty exciting. Good luck with them. I freezed my arse off today down at Negambie, but it was worth it. lol
Soapy water, a quick blast up & down will show if not revealed in the on the hose test.
Just go around all the hoses from SC to manifold. Check the fogging pipe is on as well as capped off.
Use T-bolt clams all round, and help to seat them all with light grease so the steel ring closes around the pipe evenly.
Use Sikkaflex lighty..! and i mean lighlty on your hand to wipe around the pipe end... almost wiped off with your hand too... thats more than enough. push together evenly... hold in position, and then start to tighten the clamp, checking all the time it is not moving off the pipe.
Make sur the clamp is on the inside of the edge of the pipe, and NOT over the end Too.
When done, have a ciggy etc, then go back to check the ALL again.
The clamps should all feel flat to the pipes, and not as if they have a high point,,,, snug and tight... but not over-tight. get a hold of them and try to move them... if they do, take the clamp off, and re-seat it, and tighten again.
Kool thanks. Yerr......It was the cooler pipe. Going for another ride this weekend, hopefully break the 120km mar. Havn't wasted the week though....I've installed new pro taper handle bars with a riva finger throttle. Should feel alot better
