    RXP Low 12volt

    Hi I have read through the forums but cant find an answer, The RXP is showing LOW 12 V I bought a new battery cleaned the terminals and also bought a new voltage regulator. Any thing im missing cheers Trent

    Check the connections on the voltage reg. Also there is a fuse in the circuit between the reg and batt that might be open.

    If all that check out fine maybe your charging system/stator is shot. Check that you are getting around 13.5+V at about 3500rpm to make sure you are charging the batt.

    What year is it, as certain years have specific problems.

    My guess it probably starts, and runs.... but will eventually die after mis-firing. If it is similar to below of course.

    Have you had the wear ring changed recently.... as believe it or not, if they tried to cut the ring in first time with the starter motor, it will give the fuse in the MPEM in red a good old pushing, and will probably arc the contacts a little.

    Best thing is to whip out the red fuses, and see if there is a microscopic burn mark on one of the blades(about size of a pin-head). If so, the contacts in the fuse holder will need careful tweeking to get them back in line, and change the fuse out for good measure too.

    Seen this before, and is the cheap option.

    Then we need to look at charging and other parts next.
