Yeah, looking again, you will find it is only on the warm parts of the engine bay.
Mine does exactly the same, sometimes it is almost crusty in appearance too.
The water gets in the foam of the seat, but if you look under the seat to roughly the corresponding area of the seat to the place where the water is, you will find holes in the seat base plastic.
When water gets in, it finds its way to lower parts of the seat, and the action of bouncing up and down on the seat then squishes this out, and all over the engine..!!
My seat often is almost water logged, but I feel it is better water moving through it, as it helps to stop the thing getting all smelly.
Some people have blocked over these holes to stop this with sikkaflex marine in small blobs.
I only wash my ski down with fresh water, and the pics remid me of my engine bay after a good day out on the water.
If you went one day to fresh, the residue will still be in there, albeit somewhat diluted, but you will notice a difference for sure.
ALWAYS remember to lean the seat up against something for a few days after riding, and it will drain out... and the seat will feel lighter too..!!
I suppose it does help on cooling if the air gets any circulation too in there, as it's pretty water-tight.
Another thing to remember is to open all the hatches etc after a ride... it will help eliminate the chances of sweating-up in there, and prolong trouble free riding. Let the air circulate around the hull, and set laened up against something.
Hey Mate, I recently purchased a new rxp-x :-) and i am running her in salt water all the time also.. i have had small amounts of this white residue, pretty sure its salt build up, ive been
using a bit of soapy water around the areas, and putitng on a little extra spray, leaving the seat to drain out and off, so the engine dries out... and presto no problem.. when i get back from a big day on the water.. there is a little bit there... soapy water does the trick but...
