Fuel usage 155 vs. 185 GTX models

Hi Folks, first post after a lot of reading and have the option of either an 04 155HP or the 185SC (05 model) both in great condition and going to use with teenage kids on fresh wakeboarding.

I know all about the SC rebuilds etc but is there much difference in fuel as the SC should use a tad more for the extra HP or do they use significantly more!!

And do we have to purchase SC rebuild kits direct from overseas or is there a place in Aust to buy from.

    Thanks Geoff

Re-build can be a myth tbh.

They say re-build at 100 hrs, but I have seen them with far more hours on them. It is down to many factors causing wear etc, and if lower than RPM is the norm for the ski, have a look at the charger before subscribing to the expense.

Yes we have them here in Aus, OEM re-build kits for sure.

    Hey Geoff,

Welcome to the forum! Either way I'm sure you'll be very happy with the purchase If you end up going SC make enquiries as to whether the previous owner has upgraded the washers and get proof. If not get in touch with me and I'll get you the washers etc

Thanks Guys for getting back to me and I picked the SC as in great condition, and checked the SC with the inch/pd torque wrench and it still is in middle for range at 83 hours so this would be the variable factor. Sometime reading on google can lead to being put off when in reality, looking after them stops failures as stated. The challenge being to find a second hand one that was looked after.

No doubt I be posting more, Cheers Geoff
