2005 RXP 120hrs with warning codes

    Hi There

I am hoping someone can shed some light...

I have a 2005 rxp that has been coming up intermittently with error code P0353 & P0267, of which are #3 injector and ignition coil errors. The ski goes into limp mode.

I have had this happen for a while, so would turn the ski off and on and the problem would go away. It came back so I took it to a dealer who said it seemed fine, no errors came up after they cleared the codes, and so told me to take it away and see what happens.

I did this, and the same thing happened that next day upon taking it out. I phoned them back and they said they can't really do anything until it is ALWAYS doing the error code. That was 1 month ago, and now it does do it every time I take it out after about 5 minutes.

My questions are: Is it serious? Is it able to still be used without me damaging it? Is this something I could possibly fix with the right parts? I like to fish from the ski as well as tow people. I can still do this, but the acceleration and performance just isn't there.

    Thanks!!

Sounds like the little red silicone seals are missing in the plugs for the coil; and injector to me. Maybe they are in the hull somewhere.

I hazzard that the water has got into the connectors, and causing the error codes.

Have a look to see if they are all in there to start with.

    Thanks for that Richieb.

Should I have a look at the #3 ignition coil? Would it be the same for the injector then also missing a silicone seal? And if so, how do you get to it if this is the case? (Sorry for any stupid q's but I am new at this and by no means a mechanic). It is something I'd like to at least have a go at firstly as I don't live near a dealer and so have to take it 1hr drive every time this happens!

I've had a look in the skis' hull and can't seem to see anything untoward. Interestingly, the dealer I spoke to said it is VERY unusual to have to replace an injector - he's been in the business for 15 years and has never had to replace one yet! So your suggestion may well be what is wrong!

If I find no silicone seal on the coil do I need to have the whole coil replaced or can you get the seals on their own?

Thanks for your help on this matter, I look forward to hearing from you again!
