Hey Johnnyc, I have 5hrs on it after last weekend and sever sunburn on my legs, but it does go well. As I am not used to the speed and turning etc it scares the shit out of me.
I was told by a mate to disable the slow steering wings to add manouverability to it but do not wish to void warrenty.

firstly Janssen, i wouldn't bother taking off the steering wings simply the fact that as you said you don't want to void your warranty and secondly it's not necessary you will gain confidence as your more and more on the ski experimenting and besides i doubt you are using the ski for circuit racing so therefore no need to remove. is this your first ski?

I purchased my ski for the lads at Gold Coast Sea Doo and have clocked u about 20-25 hours on mine and where did you get yours from?

PS. if you have facebook add gold coast sea doo because they add events and rides (there is one on next sunday)

I think you may be right regarding the wings and yes it is my first ski.
Bought mine at Brisbane Jet Ski, Zillmere as it was $1100 cheaper than Springwood. Alas to say I am having a dispute with the GC lads over a conversion kit that I want a refund for and they are refusing to do so. It has to be filed to fit the cable hosing and holes drilled into steering arm. But that's my problem to deal with and will have to involve ACCC.

As for warrentee's in general, there seems to be some confusion as to what voids the warrenty under "Modification". For instance, I asked about Nav Lights and one outfit will tell you it is OK but another even gave me a letter stating that I can have the lights but must be fitted by an autherised SeaDoo outlet.

Lets face it, a lot of companies will use any excuse to not repair or pay out if you so much as touch the machine. I am not implying that SeaDoo is one but rather safe than sorry.

If you want nav. lights, go to a marine shop and take a look at what they have. There are dozens of different types to be had. Or do a "Google".
Some have a battery in them and can be fitted and switched on when needed. I've known some to use "Glo Sticks" in the appropriate colours.
I had some on my GPR and used the bracket that came with them that fitted to the screws in the handle bar ends. No way would I drill a hole in the ski, just fitted them using what was there. Too easy DIY.

Miscommunication on nav lights, it was the throttle conversion kit that you had to drill a hole into the steering.
As for the lights, yeah I have seen the battery ones and the smaller ones from Bias. Some mates have used LED strip lights that are very very bright and have stuck them permanantly to the mirrors. But again, I was told by letter from Brisbane Jet Ski that any Nav lights had to be fitted by SeaDoo in order to not void the warrenty under "Modification"

    Warrenty & Modifications..Truth or Lie

So to anyone having read my threads please understand that I am not having a go at any company or it's staff.
But just consider this for a moment...........

I have been a boatie for years and like so many people I have been ripped off by dealers who give false info or just didn't tell the truth.
So for an fart that's never had a Jet Ski in his life buys one and wants to make sure all is OK and does the right thing concerning the 2 year warranty, only to be told different stories from different dealers. It's bloody frustrating
When I purchased my ski just over a week ago I got silly looks when I asked to see the warranty because to them, no one had asked before. Finally they took a book out of another ski and I found it myself.
Then I had to ask about "Modifications" such as Nav Lights and they had to phone Sydney.

So what is the truth and who do I ask to get the answers that will not back fire on me.
