Just brought in a 2008 Seadoo 180 Challenger from USA. The real challenge is finding a co-operative Seadoo dealer - there aren't any. They all refuse to take your money for service, parts, advise as they say you don't support the local industry. Could not find a second hand Challenger anywhere so it is a case of buy brand new if you want Seadoo help in OZ.
Just had the Supercharger fall apart - it appears it was rebuilt in the USA (only 45 hours) but the previous owner appears to have not torqued up the SC nut which just came off and now gotta get all the bits out of the engine and hope ther is no damage.
I have heard of that happening many times before, the seadoo challengers are very popular on the import market and this is a really big killer for all boat dealers not only pwc and seadoo dealers.
Beware of importing any watercraft as it does have many underlying issues, if you think you can get it here and start drivng it around, most of them spend alot of times at the shop before getting on the water.
They are some good buys but I would reckon 80% would need work no matter how good they tell you it is. Low hours, 3 years old, headly been used....
