RPM Restrictions on a New (2009) RXP

I was wondering of anyone could answer this question for me. I have a just recently bought a new (but 2009 model) RXP and also a RXT (same year 2009).

So far I have only had the RXP in the water and still running it in. I have taken it up to full throttle a few times and it seems that just a bit over 6,000 RPM is the limit it will go. Someone told me that the engine management system restricts the maximum RPM until it has 10 hours on it then I should expect 8,000 RPM and was wondering if this is true. I have 7 hours on it now.

    Any ideas?

    Hey mate
This sounds about right. I remember hearing this somewhere.

Have you got the ski past 10 hours yet?"
If so does it now reach a higher RPM?
Would be good if you can confirm.

    thanks

Also i think the American delivered ski's are limited to 60 mph. Aus delivered thru a dealer are not hence higher rpms. I may be wrong but thats how it was a few years ago.
