metal clutch washer for 2004 GTX ltd superchaged

Hi All, been reading about how one should replace the ceramic clutch washer on the RXP & RXT, just wondering if this applies to the GTX ltd 185hp?

Also, does the search engine in this forum work? Been trying to search anything "gtx" and results came back "0" but I can clearly see some threads with "gtx" in them..

    Cheers

cpm, i could be wrong here.. i have a 07 RXT, think the GTX 185 hp didnt have an intercooler and didnt rev as high because of that???

not too sure... check out greenhulk... there are a few modified GTX owners out there...

Hi Guys, thanks for the replies. Green Hulk had some excellent info on the GTX. I spoke with the guys at Brisbane Watercraft City in Redcliffe (QLD) and the advice they gave me was - when the 185 superchargers were first introduced, it didn't have the ceramic washer so it had issues. In 04, they introduced the ceramic washer for the SCs, and rectified the problem. When they brought out the 215 SCs, the ceramic washers became an issue due to the high revs to boost the power. The guy at the jetski shop said they don't see any issues with washer for the 185 SC, 2004 model onwards.

I'll still be replacing mine at the next servce :-) Has anyone had it done to theirs? Quote I got was $250 to replace the washer... bit steep isn't it?

Yeh i agree it is pretty cheap, go for it, most the money is in the labour to the pull the SC out and reinstall, but the washer themselves cost about $100 to 150
