    Battery Problem??

Could someone tell me if it is necessary to have your battery on a trickle charge or to need to charge it. Does the battery charge itself when the ski is running. Each time i start the ski up, it comes up with the message on the dash "12 VOLT LOW". What do i need to do???

I know with the RXP SEADOO they do not have an alternator to charge the Battery when running and im sure most Jetski's are the same. So it is advisable to keep your battery on a trickle charge. Make sure you buy a good one that turns off when the battery is at peak volts.

The last thing you want is to stop some where while riding.

    I hope this helps!

You will find that most skis do actually charge whilst you are riding...

You may need to give the battery a little top up now and then...

I always disconnect my battery otherwise your computers will slowly drain it if it sits for more than a week or two with out use...

Disconect and charge up and all will be fine again...

if still showing might be faulty battery or some other such thing...

The ski only sits in the garage during the week, weekends it out and about. maybe it needs a good run to charge it. if it's still not charged by this weekend i'll maybe get a charger. How much are chagers worth. Jase said to get a good one. What would that set you back

reasonable trickle cut out charger to do the job under 100 bucks...

If you do a lot of short start stop struff then the battery isn't getting a good long sharge into it...

Needs the odd good long spurt on the ski...

I think RAC once told me that the car uses about 15-20 minutes driving time of charging just to start the car....

Have a load test done to your battery by a local battery shop or your dealer , if the battery is fine , you may find it is not charging while riding ....

Quick way of finding out, is to start the ski and grab the multi meters and see what volts your battery is reading ... It should be 13-14 volts , if not see you local dealer ............

    I hope this helps.........................

K Mart sell good trickle chargers in there vehicle sections. They are the ones I have seen in many jetski magazines from overseas.Make sure you get the correct one for your battery.

The Rxp does have a charging system it is located it your mag cover housing and you reg/rec is located at the front of your air box.

Your shoud buy a trickle charger that can turn itself off otherwise you can stuff your computer which costs $$$$

You should always disconnect the battery before charging...
That way you won't damage the computer either....
