    grate issues

my 12 year old observer was not paying attention to the ski rope, yeh it sucked into the grate around the shaft . igot it on the trailor and removed the grate which gave good access to the rope, got it out all good, but in removing the 3 small boltsat the rear of the grate, the middle one came out,the other2 ,one sheared of,the other rotated the insert, hence it came out ,it looks like loctite had been used instead of antifreeze,i can try and drill and tap the sheared of bolt, but the other insert having come out is there a epoxy or urethane that will hold the insert in place, iwould hope i dont have to replace the bottom plate just to get 3 healthy inserts, and just having one currently holding the rear of the grate in am i asking for dramas, geeze i think this is the longest post i,ve ever done, hope someone can shead some light on this problem, thanks

Thats a bummer. I dont know if any adhesive will hold the inserts successfully. Other option is replace the entire pump shoe which is a PITA. Possibly a R&D intake grate girdle would help?? Dunno just thinkin out loud. Best of luck

    Where in Oz are you?
I have a contact who will take bolts that are sheared out at a cost.
Contact administrator for my contact number if in Sydney area.

Also you can buy these bronze inserts if they are out, with a replacement. It is quite a common thing to happen.

I've replaced inserts and used Araldite to put them back in. I think I got 3 inserts and glue from the guys at Melbourne SeaDoo (although this was a fair while ago). As Richieb said, its a common thing so you might be able to source locally fairly easily.
