Seadoo life in Melbourne over Winter - Battery trickle charge and Fogging Question

Hi, the RXT is looking quite lonely in the garage as Melbourne starts the chilly winter. Before anyone comments, I did grow testicles on the weekend and bought a full JetPilot Steamer - (frikkin sick suit & thanks to gift vouchers from family)
Now that we have that out of the way , 2 quick questions:

    (1) If I don't get as much opportunity to ride it (even with full suit in winter) due to a 3 week old baby, and the battery goes flat, can I recharge the Seadoo battery myself? I have heard from a mate with an rxt as well , his went flat last winter and he had to get it recharged by the dealer??? WTF? They apparently have a special seadoo battery charger and the manual says specifically not to charge from a car battery or trickle charger as the battery may explode - Is this true? Surely not?

    (2) What is in a "Fogging" kit ?- I am thinking I know it as somehting else but anyway, this relates to maintenance over Winter. I have cleaned inside and out, bungs are out and little fuel left. Lubed everything with CRC spray on ski and trailer. Flushed too. Anything else I am missing? How much is a Fogging kit ? What is in the kit?

Thanks guys, we'll see how flat it is in Frankston over the weekend.
    Cheers
    TG

Trickle charged at least every 30 days to keep it topped up. A flat battery is a DEAD battery and will not last long.
Take off the negative lead, then the positive lead, remove the battery and charge it.........SLOWLY, on a trickle charger.
When replacing it positive lead on first then negative lead.
If it's a wet cell top it to the high mark with distilled water ONLY and undo the plugs to allow it to breath whilst charging.

FWIW I have a YUASA wet cell here from 2001 that's always been kept topped up and it's still serviceable.

    Fogging kit.

I have a few in stock from Les Cooke.

A good idea if you run in salt all the time, and dont use it too often,,, ie, more than 3 weeks.

Nothing much to them to be honest. A series of pipes for the manifold with a bung on the end. Simply spary in one pipe, and it gets to all cylinders simultaneously. Keeps the valve seats & stems more free from corrosion.

Really, I would say its a vital thing to contemplate on any 4 stroke engine, especially if not used over the winter period.
