Thread: 2002 GTX 4-Tec Supercharged Oil light comes on

Every time I go out Im getting the oil warning buzzer and light going off. It puts the machine in limp mode. I have to take the tether cord out and restart the machine. Does any one have any ideas? I've read that the oil pressure sensors have been problematic but is there a way I can make sure its them? Im not even sure where they are on the engine. If any one could help me out I would really appreciate it!

Sounds like it is the oil pressure switch to me.

Yes, it's true, they do go squiffy.

From what you say, it sure sounds like the problem.

21mm plug socket, 4" extn, mini ratchet should help you pull it out. Dont loose the seal on the connector, they are a pain to get, and keep the plug clean from anything, incl cleaner.

Make sure the area around where the switch screws in is clean, so as not to get any debris in the hole as you out and replace it.
