    95 or 98 Octane fuel?

    Hi,

I recently (Friday) became the proud owner of a new 2009 Sea-Doo Wake Pro 215. The sales person told me to use premium unleaded fuel only. Which is best: 95 or 98 Octane? Did about 5 hrs on it this weekend using 98.

I am still running it in, and was wondering if 98 is not too high for the new engine.

    Congrats mate! Awesome ski

I have an 09 FZR still running it in only 6 hours and use regular unleaded i don't think 98 will do any harm besides to you pocket nor do i think you will get any benefits.

    Others might have different opinion.

Saucer of milk for the boys please........

215hp generally run better on the 98 we have here in Oz.

Theoretically 95 is the correct way, but if you read the spec sticker at the side of the seat, it says to the contrary..!!.

Actually the ski will run with 91, but will retard itself to stop detonation in the engine. This is a safe thing to have too, but the ski will seem less eager to get-up and go.

I try to fill the ski mid-week to avoid the price hike we all see too..!!

ONE WORD OF ADVICE... DO NOT use anything with ethanol in it. Maritime have also issued this warning. Ethanol attracts water, and does/can damage things in the fuel delivery system.
