Mate i was in the same situation as you, ive got the same ski but decided to get more performance out of my gpr

If you spend about $2,000 i can give you a list of parts to get and you will be killing rxp's and you'll be able to have good handling, and you can still have fun wave jumping and doing spins

Don't get me wrong rxp's are good skis and i like them a lot but the gpr is a lot more fun

    Hey mate
GPs are a great all round ski and with little money you can get them reaching pretty descent speeds. With both skis stock and sr20lux with confirm the GPR keeps side by side with the RXP after the first 40 meters. CONDITIONS APPLY

IMO GPs have better handling all round compared to the RXP cornering, chop and surf hence the reasons we keep seeing “conversion skis” RXP motors in GPR hulls J. When i had mine i felt i could hit any chop, wave and surf and knew exactly what the ski was going to do.

Reliability: You’re talking chalk and cheese. The GPR is 2stroke and the RXP is 4stroke.......4stroke will most of the time win... DEPENDING on how they are treated.
    BUT
In saying that, i got my GPR up to 80+ hours with only a set of plugs and a service.

BUT this is just my honest opinion obviously Doo lovers *cough *cough RichieB will tell you other wise J
    Hope this helps.

Lol i agree with Sam, when the ski's are both stock standard we will stay side to side with an RXP and of course condition apply, depending on weather, chop etc one or the other may pull a little forward, also performance parts for the GP are a lot cheaper than the RXP here in Australia.

ive spent about $1,000 on my ski at the moment but iv'e been pretty patient and waited for second hand parts etc and it's going very good about 70+mph (yet to be GPS tested) but i will test it this weekend out at lansvale lakes.

Sam's also right about reliability obviously because they are 2 stroke BUT if the 4 stroke fails you'll be up for double everything (cost included)

    Shopping list for GP1300R

Here is your shopping list mate, a lot of performance can come straight out of the hull, if you really pay attention to detail there you can get some serious speeds.

    Holeshot/handling

    R&D aquavein intake grate - $110

Shreadmaster Ride Plate - (If most of your riding is in small chop to medium chop - if you have this
plate you will be able to cut through the water better than any other ski but they are pricey
roughly about the $300 mark custom made by the guys in America - i can give you the details later
if you choose to go for this plate)

R&D Ride Plate - $150 (if you don't choose to go for the Shreadmaster)

    Pump seal kit - $80

R&D anti cav cone - $90 (not a necessity at the moment (i haven't done it yet))

SOLAS 14/20 prop - $300 (this is the prop you need but you will need the headwork done)

    Tunnel reinforcement - $165

Leo's Holeshot Kit - $300 Get you out of the water a lot quicker (Hang on to your hats)

Island Racing Hole Shot Kit - $165 Get you out of the water a lot quicker (Hang on to your hats)

    Riva Trim tabs - $145

    Engine

    VF3 reeds - $330

    3deg timing key DB racing - $60

    Free flow Exhaust - $120

OEM head 150psi - (Roughly about $60-$100 from any general maching place)

    D-plate (Jetworks) - $65

Tiny tach - $60 (this is for testing purposes, you need to run your ski with a GPS and fine tune
your ride plate by shimming the plate with washers (i also haven't done this but will do this weekend)

    R&D race filter - $145
