    05 rxp using oil

    Hi
just needed some advice as not getting any answers from dealership.
i have had a rxp 05 for about a month it is using about 4mm of oil on the dipstick after about 2hrs riding. there is no water in oil or no coolant loss or oil blowing out the dipstick. there is a little bit of steam coming out the back end after it warms up not sure if its related.
    any advice would be appreciated
    thanks

Steam is normal, but you sure your not mistaking steam for burnt oil??? Get a compression check done might show some abnormalities. Only place oil can get used is due to worn oil rings on piston or leaking valve seals, either way youd be burning oil through the combustion process. Dont let the dealers fob you off, if they are in the slightest way worth what they get paid they should be able to determine the problem

135-145 all three, no more than 10% diff between them.

Can you see any signs of oil around the engine bay? look close to the carbonseal (near driveshaft.) where it goes into the housing there is a marker and if you can fit your thumb in there then thats more than likely where its coming from have seen a few skis loosing oil from there.

The other thing is check your oil cooler.

Let us know how you go.

compression test was fine all three read 145-150. will take it out again and see if it uses any more oil. there is no oil around the engine bay or any where else bit of a mystery. any idea where i could get a service manual from?

    thanks again

Remove the induction pipework between the supercharger & the inlet manifold / intercooler for signs of oil
