Local versus Import... I just found out...!!

I recently purchased a brand-new RXT and a brand new RXP that were still in the crates off eBay.

I went to my local SeaDoo dealer to try and establish a relationship for the ongoing service and maintenance of my new jetskis and have now discovered that the Sea Doo dealers will not touch imported Sea Doo's.

Mine are not imported from the USA, but directly from Canada. I was told they were purchased directly from the Sea Doo factory and that's Sea Doo will sell the previous year's models directly to the public inanada as in my case. I am not sure if this is true or not, but this is what I was told. My local dealer checked the numbers on both my craft and said they were not in the system as being imports and that they could service both my jetskis. They then went on to tell me they would have to contact Sea Doo to double check further because I told them that they were imported. Nodoubt my jetskis will now appear on the online import list.

I have a large family and I am in the market to buy another two jetskis in addition to 2 double trailers. I told this dealer that if he could not service my initial two then he would not get the sale of the other two, or the trailers. I have contacted them a number times since and hey have not come back to me with an answer. It's obvious that these guys all band together to outlaw anyone with any import Sea Doo jetskis.

What I am asking is there anybody in the Sydney metropolitan area that can assist me with servicing in addition to new keys should the need arise. I read these forums and see that there are a number of solutions and srvice centres that can help, However, these are all in different States.

I would be keen to buy any computers, programmers and the like to maintain my own jet skis in addtion spare keys if anyone can assist.

To be honest I am rather ticked off at how this is conducted in Australia and keen on getting together with a good mechanic and throwing a couple hundred thousand dollars at setting up a great workshop to assist all the people in this very same situation in Sydney. In addition to that importing as many containers of Sea Doo Jet Ski as I can get my hands on just to piss these dealers off and break their stupidity...

Look forward to hearing from anyone.

mate - welcome to the world of seadoo!!
you have done a great thing and saved your self thousands buy buying and import!!
servicing , diagnostics & key coding are NO PROBLEM for any import owner!
there are independant techs all over aussie with diagnostic equipment ready to work on your ski!
all this crap from the dealers is just crybaby sour grapes because they did not make the 5-6k profit from you!!
google "tall poppy syndrome" kinda sums things up really!!!
what makes you think you need to take this thing to a dealer anyway????????????
if you really are keen on a workshop i can even sell you the genuine BRP diagnostic set up so you can do everything yourself!!
check out www,brpdiagnostics.com , its all here!!!!

    Hey mate
I imported an FZR and would do it again on my next ski.
To me the extra $$$$$ aint worth it for warranty and servicing. My local non yammi dealer can do eveything and more.

    Cheers

The brpdiagdiagnostic is not cheap. I ordered the candoo pro unit from these folks in the states for my seadoo works a treat. Have reset keys maintain hours faults etc.

    Cost me about $400

well the can doo is the best of the aftermarket equipment but that is not really saying much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
if you want to carry out professional repairs to dealer level you only have 1 choice and thats the genuine system!!
sure the can doo is fine for home mechanic but thats its limit - and DONT FORGET the $400 limits you to just
working on 4 skis as this is a limited licence!!!!!
most of my sales are to guys who bought the aftermarket stuff and now realise the limitations and want the proper equipment!
as for pricing....just ask - you may get a deal!!!!!!!

whats the difference between the two.....mate are you joking!!!!!!!!
can doo is fine for your home mechanic/back street workshop but if you want to do professional dealer level diagnostics
you only have 1 choise - the genuine equipment!!!!!
what ever make you think ANY aftermarket equipment will be equal to the genuine system?????
80% of my sales are to independant wokshops that have purchased inferior aftermarket equipment then realise the genuine stuff is the only way to go...........think you are going to update the ECU on a 2010 IS with Can Doo LOL

and after all this not a peep from Mr fukseadoo

Ive been busy and have not had a chance to even get back on this site.

What I have done however is to secure 14 new Sea Doos for my first shipment ready to bring into Aus. New in crates current and last years models.

deksta , your candoo will do everthing you need for home/backyard/shadetree mechanics , when you get stuck and find it wont do what you need or dose not have the updates available guess what......... you will need the proper dealer tool - BUDS
