Cool Melbourne Social Ride - Sorrento to Lorne or Frankston to Dromana

Melbournians, there is not enough social rides going on in Victoria, before summer diappears, let's get one organised. Ocean, lake or river, let's do it, make a day of it and maybe have lunch somewhere too.
Happy to take ideas from people, long weekend this weekend?
Some options I have heard of:

Sorrento to Lorne (Melbourne Sea doo have done this a few times for customers)
Frankston to Dromana (cruizey ride and have lunch down there or something)
Phillip Island loop - ( Honda dealership recommended - not sure on the great whites though)
    Hazelwood Pondage - warm water
Loch Sport - lake victoria on one side and surf beach on the other

Any takers, there's enough of us out there, plenty down the Peninsula anyway. Got no hits last time I asked. New to the sport and seems a bit disappointing not to meet new people out there.
    Hopefully see you out there,
    Toni

guys im in melbourne usually launch from st kilda, looking for local people who are interested in meeting up for rides, my mate sold his ski and I am struggling to find people who are as interested in skiing as I am. drop me a line if you are keen.

    thanks

Folks, the Melbourne winter has arrived and you will definitely need a full wetsuit / steamer if you wanna go out. It is bloody cold but flat as glass out there. Love the idea of a group going to Tassie in Summer? Hop on the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry over night and a long weekend in Tassie riding them like we stole them? Sweet! We have to plan a Melbourne ride around weather as most blokes may have their insurance in a "lay off" period like me. Cheaper as not planned to use over melb winter. Have to give insurance mob 48 hours notice and pay 10% of policy to use it for 30 days though.
If it is going to be ok, no wind, hail , maybe an option in teh next 2 or 3 weeks. Probably Frankston, maybe St Kilda launch? Open to ideas as theer is not many of us. Cheers

definitely would agree that Melbourne needs social ride groups to gain maximum use for the skis. would love to join in on the franks ton to Dromana cruise. post me a thread with details if it goes ahead.
