    PFD1's

    Hi Guys..

I just purchased an Inflatable PFD1,

I'm not 100% sure on the rules here.. I know between 400mtrs we have to have a PDF3 but between 400mt and 2nm a PFD1 is a must..

Does it have to be inflated ? Or only just worn ?

    Cheers

if its not inflated i think it has to be worn over the top of a pfd2/3

we normally wear normal pfd1's when we go out from ocean reef. and helmets for jumping at the alkimos. trust me. its worth it. seen many a chin smash out there. plus they're warm and block rain!!

    dude

    what if it doesnt inflate?????

what if it starts to inflate when you take off on a wave do you really fly????

I believe those ones are more for boats than jet skis because it is the water on them that inflates them i think from memory? if they are the auto ones that is if it is the manual ones if you fall off unconscious how would you inflate it then????
    Cheers

Its a Manual activate one.. Pull the Cord.. Pops open.. I was intending to wear it over the PFD3, Mainly to comply to Mr DPI.

    Fits well over the PDF3

    mate

you will be fine then. it was just if that is the only one you are wearing you will have probs not from dpi but from the misses when you drown unconscious from hitting the water at 80k's

ALtho if anyone goes to alkimos and wave jumps always wear a helmet .... if anyone waves jump anywhere full stop they should wear a helmet. I have cracked my head jumping a two foot wave near mindarie when it broke unexpectantly...

    ah mate

your in mandurah i see. dont know to much about that area but i got mine from a motorcycle shop as in a moto x helmet. however anacott and verificated have got helmets that have a pull down visor which i think is better for riding as you dont cope water and crap etc inside the helmet like the moto x ones.

nearly had my neck broken when going down a mother of a wave in lancelin in march. it sucked the helmet straight off my head with strap very firmly tied. it wasn't a very nice feeling and when i came up (still on jet ski may i add with full throttle) my helmet was in 7 pieces...... and no bull ask jagsy he pick up pieces while i was checking my pants....
