    Post JET SPORT WEST Race Dates 2007 / 2008

    Race DAtes for 2007/2008
    Below are the new Calander dates for the next season...

    Pleease note some dates may be changed and or venues changed..

    We are hoping to add another Surf round in betwwen round 7 and rd8 venue and dates being worked on at the moment...

    Race Calendar Dates:


    2007
    AUGUST 12 Rd 2 Winter series BURSWOOD 9.30 start

    SEPTEMBER 29/30 ROUND 1 BUNBURY Long Weekend ...... Details TBA

    OCTOBER 21st ROUND 2 NARROWS 9.30am start

    NOVEMBER 18th ROUND 3 NARROWS 9.30am start

    DECEMBER 9th ROUND 4 NARROWS 9.30am start

    2008

    JANUARY 13th ROUND 5 NARROWS 9.30am start

    JANUARY 26th AUSTRALIA DAY DEMO SWAN RIVER 4.00pm start

    FEBURAY 10th ROUND 6 NARROWS 9.30am start

    MARCH 8/9th ROUND 7 CRABFEST MANDURAH 2 days............

    APRIL 6th SLALOM NARROWS 9.30am start

    May ??? Round 8 Surf Venue and DAte TBA

    JUNE 15th ROUND 9 STATE FINALS BURSWOOD 9.30am start


    JULY 13th WINTER SER ROUND 1 BURSWOOD 9.30am start


    AUGUST 10 WINTER SER ROUND 2 BURSWOOD 9.30am start

    Race day consist of 5 motto’s of 12 laps runabout and
    Pole skis 7 laps
    Race license required as well as Snell approved motocross helmet
    Trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd and points accumulate for end of year.

    Bunbury approaching fast and the club are looking for a non racer to help as a marshal ski on the Sunday and Volunteers for all our race rounds...

    TIME TABLE / FORMAT / PROCEDURES / COSTS



    8.00 – 8.45am ENTRY:
    §Entry forms completed at officials tent.
    §Payment made (please have correct money)
    §Race license sited by Official on race day. (this is mandatory no license sited no race)

    8.30 – 9.00am TECH:
    §Tech must be completed before the ski is put in the water.
    §All safety gear must be presented at tech. (This includes Helmet and PFD and lanyard) along with receipt of entry.
    §All ski’s must have a lanyard


    9.15 – 9.30am RIDERS MEETING:
    §All riders must attend riders meeting or will not be allowed to race.
    §Late entries won’t be accepted unless prior approval has been obtained from the race director.
    §Riders not waiting at the start gate for the commencement of their race by the end of the previous race will be deemed to have withdrawn from that race.

    9.30 – 10.00am PRACTICE LAP:
    §Practice lap or sighting laps are not a race.
    §Riders must follow the dedicated leader of these laps...
    §These laps are to familiarize yourself with the course.
    §After the leader pulls of the course you have one more practice lap.
    §Any questions after practice please direct to the race director before the start of racing.
    §If unsure please ask.
    §Pole ski’s will go out first
    §Then 800 sports
    §Then Novice and 1200 together

    NOTE - VERY IMPORTANT:

    1.Please observe all local water rules.
    2.No Person is permitted on the course at any time without the permission of the race director.
    3.There will be NO riding on or near the course whilst it is being set out or before official practice.
    4.If tuning etc is required, permission must be obtained from the race director on where when and for how long.
    5.Helmets and all safety gear are required at all times on race day.
    6.All skis must have a flexible tow loop attached to their ski.



    10.00 – 3.00pm RACING
    §3 to 5 mottos depending on time and course size.
    §Each motto will be 12 Laps
    §Pole skis will race 7 laps
    §Classes and race order will be announced at riders meet.
    §Races will progress in that order and without delays please…
    §Remember be on the line before the next race finishes or you miss the race...

    3.00pm – PRESENTATIONS & PACKUP
    §At the completion of the last race all riders are required to help pull the course in and pack away the trailer.
    §Once the course is packed away and area left clean and tidy presentations will take place.

    COST: $30.00 One Class
    $50.00 Two Classes
    JET SKI: Please ensure all ski’s are registered and correctly labeled or you will not be allowed to race. No exceptions.
    CLUB DUTIES: All active club members/racers MUST perform a day of duties to activate their points for the current season.

    RACE NUMBERS: Once allocated a race number on your race license, please ensure that your ski is numbered correctly to assist the scorers in correctly scoring you each lap.

    REFUELING RACE CRAFT: All fuel is to be stored in a safe manner. No refueling is to be carried out in the water. There will be no smoking or use of mobile phones in the area whilst refueling is being carried out. JSW will have a fire extinguisher near the start gate for all to put beside there boat before refueling. Failure to abide by these rules will result in a dead engine start next motto or loss of points.

    STARTS: All riders must hold their line from the start to the first turn, interference will not be tolerated
    In the event a race is red flagged riders must return to the start gate in a safe manner.

    FLAGS: GREEN - Used to signify racing or as start flag on a rolling start.
    RED - Race has been stopped proceed to the start gate in a safe manner
    YELLOW - Caution rider down in area keep racing but proceed with caution.
    WHITE - Signifies the start of the last lap
    CHECKERED - Race is finished cross the finish line. DO NOT STOP on or immediately after the line.
    Proceed a safe distance from the finish line and wait for all to finish before making way to shore in safe and sensible manner. Failure to do this results in Dead engine Start next race.

    FIRST TIME RACERS: Newcomers will be guided thru the course on their own by the race director. They will then have time to show their skills alone on the track before the race director who will nominate an appropriate class for them to race in for their first time. After proving to be able to control and race in a safe manner they will then be allocated to novice class.

    HAND SIGNALS: A rider who has fallen, spun out or stalled must first raise one or both hands overhead to indicate the he or she is not injured. Re-entry onto the course must be done in a safe and careful manner with right of way given to oncoming riders.

    LAPPED RIDERS: Riders who are being lapped by another rider must not block or interfere with the rider who is lapping them. They must give way to the rider but still maintain race lines….

    Chookc just wondering about the round on the 6th of april at the Narrows how does the slalom work will be home for this round so intersested in maybe having a crack...If anyone else knows how it works.....

    Is the slalom just an open day or is it for points towards the champs?

    Is the surf race a goer or scrapped for this season?

    The 6th of April at this stage is to be a race round... I won't be able to source a surf location before then still trying to locate source a surf round for May though...
