    rotto channel swim

I have only had my ski a couple of months, and I am dying to get across to rotto. This weekend is obvioulsy the channel swim, thought it would be a good idea to tag along, plenty of traffic/support, any advice from people who have done it before?

The committee at JSW is trying to organise a run across to Rotto however there is a lot of red tape but we are persistent with it and hope to organise one in the not too distant future.

Yeah, guys I share your enthusiasm but don't do it (the crossing that is). For jetski's to make the crossing we need to arrange special permission (keep an eye on our Social Team's events). Secondly, if you do mingle in the action, make sure you have the organisors consent and please be careful around swimmers (but you probably knew that anyway).
    Good luck

Yeah i checked with the club ealier in the week and they wont be organizing one until october, i know that you are not supose to but i dont think i can wait that long. But after checking the weather this morning on seabreeze.com it doesnt look like it will be a pleasant ride accross anyway, so probally have to give it miss this time, but would probally still be fun to tag along a few nm out?

Shanec, Understand your enthusiasm to do the ride but if people continually break the laws and keep riding to Rotto those law abiding riders of JSW will never get there as the powers that be will keep pulling more red tape out of the draw. Be patient and enjoy a safe ride once JSW has got all the approvals in plac3e...
