Thumbs up buy brand new VX700??

so ive been lookin around and reading up on jet skis, thanks to all your help so far. Now the opportunity has come up to get a brand new VX700 with trailer etc, and because its 07 model its on sale for just under 10 000... I was hoping to get a bigger ski but this deal sounds pretty darn tempting and the fact that its brand new and not used is another good point.

ive ridden 700s over in phuket and it was awesome fun. will i get bored with 701cc or is it a good ski to get started on?? what's the top speed of these things, i was told 60-70kmh? thoughts on this deal? should i go for it?

Wangers is right. Forget it. There are much better 2nd hand skis for $10,000 than a VX700.

I had a VX110 way to slow and dought it will ever have pulled a skiier out the water so a 700 would have no chance...This day and age Don't get anything that does under 100 specially if you want to tow a skiier....you need the get up a go power get a 215 superchared ski or if yammie go the 160hp

I have the VX110 cruiser. Same story, deal too good to refuse. It pulls a skier/wakeboarder without any problems. I have had it to a top speed of 57mph. I find it is fine for what I want, wavejumping and cruising, but the boys are right you will get pissed of watching the likes of pottsy flying past you on his flash supercharged RXT. Makes you feel like a tadpole in a shark tank. Funds permitting, next year I will be looking to upgrade.

From another VX110 Owner if you cant afford a FX160 or a RXP respectively then DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY SAVE UP MORE!!!!! The VX110 is underpowered so no doubt the VX700 will have a little more oomph but less top end considering they are 75hp or there abouts ? I like the VX110 Its is Uber economical and really really reliable but you will get soooo bored of it, If you would like a ride PM me and I will organise for you to have a test ride at South Perth any day this week or if im still here on the weekend (fifo) then I can arrange either day.

    Cheers Phil

p.s SAVE YOUR MONEY im still hanging out for the No-SHO

    Hi Oggy,

good luck choosing your new ski. I agree with the other members mate, the VX700 is not going to keep you excited for long from a performance perspective!! Have you considered a GP..... $12,500 would buy you an '03 1300R with 27hours. Definantley keep your interest for a whole lot longer IMO, for what it's worth. I believe you buy a ski based on what you intend to do with it.

    Cheers.
