    Waverunner Plug Lead Order

    Greetings,
After changing my CDI and coil I now have spark, but the ski still won't run. I think I may have the leads on the wrong cylinders, does anyone know which lead should go to which plug?

    What ski is it?

The leads on most skis r precut to the required lengths & r usually obviously designated.

Most 3 cyl use a 1-3-2 firing order if that helps. There are only 9 different ways on a 3 cyl so try each way, but I would have thought there would b some markings somewhere to indicate which went where.

It's a 2cyl 1992 650 waverunner. I know there's only 2 ways the leads can go, but it doesn't seem to want to start with the leads either way. I was hoping to be able to rule out the firing order as the problem.

Just an observation here, you say you changed the coil? Is there only 1 coil? If so, then your ignition might be the wasted spark type (fires both cylinders at the same time). If this is the case, it would not matter which way around you put the leads on.
Have you checked for spark visually? Unscrew the spark plug and hold is against the engine case (i.e. earth the thread part) and crank to see if there is spark. Make sure it earth's properly or it might give you a tingle!
Oh, and please make sure the hull is well ventilated before doing this (no fumes!). Good luck

Hey, interesting about the single coil, I think it's one of those units.
Tonight I went out and thought I'd give it a chance, cranked it over and it fired. Not sure why it wouldn't the other day, but ran it tonight for a good 5 minutes, was pretty smokey, but running.
