    FX Ho and trailer width.

I am getting closer to ordering a FX HO. One problem I have is in fitting it in the shed on its trailer. One dealer has said it is 4.5 L X 1.9 W and another is 4 L X 1.54 W. I am assuming we are talking about 2 different style of trailers here. Of course the smaller is better for the shed, however I will probably be looking at a 1200 km round trip to get it serviced, I had best get the trailer that has some Highway manners. My tow vehicle is currently a Troopie, and likely to stay that way. What is the go with trailers? ....... a few years ago I made a trailer to carry two kayaks, the thing is a work of art, but the time and effort to build something so simple has left me emotionally scarred. Does someone know the answer ???

All dealers will have their own preferred trailer supplier and will give you a basic trailer.
If you want you can buy your trailer separately from the ski.
You will then be able to bargain the price on the trailer separately saving you some more cash.
Buying the trailer separately you can buy specific to your needs rather than the dealership just giving you a standard trailer.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers

Just went and measured mine. Its 4.5L x 1.7W. Width is wheel to wheel and length is from the hitch to the end of the ski.

For long distances you want a trailer with big wheels, 17". Otherwise the small OEM wheels spin a hell of a lot faster at highway speeds and burn the bearings out. Unless you grease the bearings just before you leave and stay at lower speeds (80km/h) you would be fine.
