Hi all,
Just found this site and loving it!
We have recently migrated from Scotland and have brought our 97 Waveblaster II with us, hoping for some better weather to make more use of it.
We purchased the ski second hand at 3 years old and it has been used every year, I'm guessing around 10 hours per year on average, but with no hour gauge, difficult to determine the exact running time. Until now, it has been used only on a fresh water loch but now in SA, will be used in the sea.
We did not get any info or manual with the ski, and have only replaced the spark plugs together with fogging oil each winter. Other than using clean petrol (95 octane in the UK) and good quality oil (quicksilver), no other maintenance has been needed - even the battery is original, but will be replaced soon.
Anyway, despite considering the ski to be built proof, am a bit worried about comments suggesting the engines are good only up to around 100 hours which is where I guess our ski is.
Without the manual, what compression should I expect, and can you give me any other things to check or look out for? I have just checked the compressions and they are 170 and 185 - (I have not used the compression tester for about 15 years so can't confirm its accuracy but did repeat the test a couple of times and got the same readings)
Cheers, paul
