96 waveventure 700 was running smooth as, but on last outing it has gone all bad.
now it starts fine idles a little rough and has a sound as if i am running a rev limiter on it as soon as i start to get it up to arround 20 ks. then smoke as if on choke and thats all she writes .
i am dreading the suggestions but hit me with them anyway.

try the obvious first ...
1. New plugs and check all plugs have strong spark, a lead may be broken.
2. is it premix or oil injection. oil inject pump may be playing up and dumping to much oil .
3. check for any other loose broken / corroded wires
4. find a repair mob in your area to have a look....
Do a compression test as well ....

When you check the spark plugs, see if the end of the spark plugs are coffee brown . If one is discoloured , you have a misfire also check the themo switch on the head. These play up sometimes on the 701 motors. Good luck.
As Chookc hinted at......look at ya oil inj if it's a self mixer. I'd also look at ya fuel. If u have water in ya fuel, ya plugs will be trying to burn a petrol/water combo while ya oil will be burnt as normal, as it won't mix with the fuel properly coz of the water, making it smoke more than usual. Either way I'd certainly be looking at plugs, leads etc.

tried all your suggestions and i think it safest to get mechanic in. do you have a suggestion for a good one in the canningvale area.have tried to contact greg moody but i hear hes on holidays .
Try AtomicJet Tim's the guy to speak to he is around that area. you'll find his add in the quokka jetski section.. Sorry don't have his number handy...
