Don't know about mods, but use Lanox (Inox with Lanolin), or Lanotec.
Lanox is found in most hardware/boat stores where Inox is.
I found Lanotec all purpose spray in the paint section of bunnings with other lanotec products.
These are milder on rubber, and provide equivalent protection in all areas, with additional water repelling.

    thommo,

Hi, i have an 05 xlt1200, great ski, in fact i think i saw you on saturday arvo down the narrows, blue hilux? anyways...

As far as mods go, i went down this path about 6 months ago, in the end i decided that unless you want to spend big dollars there isn't really anything that you can do to give you noticable performance gains.

Check out teh following link for specific XLT1200 mod options.

    http://www.ozpwc.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19

Iv spoken to the guys at Freo Yamaha and Jet Power about this and both were like.. yea yea yea.. you can do this this and this... spend $3k, gain a couple km top end... i didnt think it was worth it.

The only thing im considering to do to mine is change the impella and possiblely the ride plate, iv riden an XLT that changed the impella and it was noticably differant off the line, top end was the same though. Still deciding if its worth the $800 odd bucks..

Mind you i could be wrong, some of the race guys could be able to give you a better insight into what you can do, i just know when i looked into it there wasnt any low cost options and even the high cost ones didnt offer that much of a gain.

    my two cents.

Change them , salty water has attacked them before the lanox was added...

    Hey all.

I also have a 06 XLT1200. (I am the one with the blue hilux)

That afternoon was the first ride on the new machine. I was happy but they do take a while to launch out of the water. Anyhow, did the 10 hours and got the first service then sent it off for the typical upgrades.

I picked it up this afternoon and headed down to Ocean reef to try it out..... WOW big difference.

Andrew at Jetpower did the following: Solas prop 13/19 / R&D intake grate / Riva Carbon Fibre ride plate / Riva free flow exhaust / and the Riva Sponsons. I tell you, it is like a completely different ski! Now I am very happy!

Now it has a throaty growl and jumps out of the water(for a boat!)

Well worth the couple of G's to make it more stable, corner better and get up and go quicker.

In case you were contemplating.... go for it!

    Cheers

I was down at jetpower when they were doing the upgrades. I have the same ski as you so the next time i see you on the water i will have a chat to you in person. The mods look very interesting and depending on the diff i may do it some time down the track.

I am still learning on the jet ski (novice) so i am putting on hold any mods for now. Still competing in the racing but is only for fun for now. You should test your ski racing against those "bees in a bucket" red and yellow seadont's.

    Cheers
