    XLT1200 Cavitation

Hi guys another quick question. Been told I may need a pump seal kit and that Moulded inserts fill the voids in the OEM pump shoe also limiting cavitation. Is this a big job? My ski bogs and cavitates a bit when pulling out of the hole when trying to pull up a single person on kneeboard. Once up and going its fine just useless down low. Also does the standard XLT have pump seals? Or is the aftermarket kit there as a result of design flaw from factory by Yamaha?

    Hi Brentle,

Yes you'll need a seal kit. Steve will help you with this.

I installed one in my GP1300R apart of the Riva stage 1 kit and problem gone. My jet ski can pull me out of the water now on one ski!!

    Good luck
